Red-tailed Hawk - Greeting Card

Red-tailed Hawks are one of the most prolific raptors in the world. If you catch sight of a large perched bird on a power line while driving down the freeway, you’re likely seeing a Red-tailed. Though they can present in darker and lighter plumage “morphs”, or appearances,  that can make identification tricky, the classic rust color of their tail feathers will consistently be a sure tell.

Notably, the iconic screech these hawks make is often incorrectly superimposed on footage of Bald Eagles in Hollywood films.
