Custom Portraits
One of my favorite types of projects to work on are detailed, emotive portraits of dogs, cats, and other beloved pets. It's an honor to be trusted to capture the character of our best animal friends and lend them some dignity that is often overlooked
Natural Materials
All custom portraits are painted on solid birch wood panel with M. Graham oil paints made here in the Pacific Northwest. This method lends itself well to fine, expressive details thanks to the smooth wood surface and high quality pigments.
Fully Prepped
Raw panels are sealed before painting. I apply a UV-protective varnish at the end to keep the piece in perfect condition for decades to come.
Ready To Gift
Completed panels are wired by hand so they are able to be hung straight from the box. Paintings can be shipped anywhere and may include a custom gift note upon request.
Process
Portrait rates start around $350 for an 8"x8" inch panel and scale up from there. I accept requests throughout the year as my schedule allows.
Please email hello@jennjoslin.com with:
- Size, either specific dimensions or a general idea
- A description and photos of your pet
- Desired timeline. Most pieces take 2 weeks minimum due to drying time.
I'll reply within 2 business days to get things started
If you're looking for another type of project that is not a pet or wildlife portrait, please reach out! These are my most requested paintings but I am open to exploring new ideas.
